Catch Steve Trevino on Showtime October 4, and at Roosters October 11-14!

STEVE TREVINO’S COMEDY SPECIAL PREMIERES THURSDAY, OCTOBER 4, 2012
There’s a new kind of Mexican in town, “Steve Trevino: Grandpa Joe’s Son”

Los Angeles, CA, September 18, 2012
— After 10 years headlining on the national comedy circuit, Steve Trevino makes his SHOWTIME® debut in October with his first one-hour comedy special, “Grandpa Joe’s Son.” Filmed at the California Theatre in San Bernardino, Calif., the special will air at 10 p.m. ET/PT Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012.

Jason T. Davis, a Pop Culture blogger with ireadculture.com, explains how Steve Trevino strays away from the Latino stereotypes inside his comedy routine, “Trevino, a stand-up comic from South Texas, veers away from predictable ethnic references to instead focus on blue-collar, observational humor about life as a member of the working class. Infused with an energy only a guy from Texas could generate, Trevino tells stories of growing up as a kid in a small town, his closeted gay uncle, his new engagement and his dog.”

It was important to Trevino that he accurately reflects who he is as a person in his stand-up routine. Trevino is proud to be Mexican, but more importantly, he’s proud to be a Texan and an American. “I didn't want it to be a bunch of jokes relying on ethnic punch lines and premises," says Trevino. "Instead, the show is a mix of personal stories and my perspective on life as I have known it until now. I want to give a voice to people like me.  My hope for this special is to show America that there is a new kind of Mexican in town and he's American---and damn proud of it.”

A testament to the time he’s spent developing material and building a fan base on the road, Trevino’s supporters showed up in full force to attend the taping. Friday’s rush-hour traffic and 100-degree heat didn’t prevent his fans from filling the 1,700 seat California Theatre. LOL Comedy Producer and Director Scott Montoya said, “Steve killed it and it’s always great to see someone get a well-deserved shot, but more importantly, to deliver on that shot.”

Steve Trevino has traveled to Iraq and Afghanistan to entertain the troops--- a cause he supports. Steve’s credits include The Late Show with Craig Ferguson, Comedy.TV, Latin Nation, Comedy Central, and Comics Unleashed with Byron Allen, to name a few.

Steve Trevino: "Grandpa Joe's Son" was produced and directed by Scott Montoya and produced by Neal Marshall. Produced in its entirety by LOL Comedy Inc. 2012, for the Showtime® Network as part of the 4th annual LOL Comedy Festival, at the California Theatre in San Bernardino. Steve Trevino will be headlining Rooster T. Feathers Thursday October 11 through Sunday October 14. For tickets and additional information, click here, or call 408.736.0921.

Coupon Amnesty Announced for April 5-7 2012!

Bring in any Rooster T. Feathers coupon, ticket or pass--whether valid or not--and we'll take it!

Laugh in the face of expiration dates...they mean nothing to us Thursday April 5 through Saturday April 7 for any Reese Waters show.

Reese Waters has been seen on the Late Show with David Letterman as well as Comedy Central. He appears with Sandy Stec, comedian and morning radio personality on STAR 101.3 FM in San Francisco. Rodger Lizaola hosts the shows.

Want to see the Friday show but your coupon is valid only for Sunday? Who cares! Bring it in anyway. That's what amnesty is all about.

We'll take expired birthday passes, old Groupon or Town Hog vouchers, expired tickets, an Entertainment Book coupon from 2007, etc. We'll even take those super-old tickets from so long ago it was before the Rooster updated his image, i.e., back in the days of the top hat and spats! We'll also accept a Thursday ticket on a Saturday, or a pass for 10:30 at the 8pm or 9pm show, etc. Sorry, we don't take competitors coupons though!

You have to call to make reservations; We don't accept coupons through the Web site. Just call 408.736.0921 to leave your reservation details. But, you can click here to read more about the show on our Web site.

Thanks and we'll see you at the show!

Welcome Groupon customers! Get answers to your questions here!

We're excited to welcome new Groupon members to The Roost! Roosters was named Best Place to Laugh Till You Cry by the ABC7 Bay Area A-List three years in a row, so you're at the right place! Our Groupon deal is featured on the Groupon San Jose site Tuesday April 17 through Thursday April 19, and on the Groupon San Francisco site Thursday April 19-Saturday April 21. We've got some fantastic shows coming up over the next few months sure to tickle your gizzard, so stock up on admission vouchers now!

Here's answers to some frequently asked questions:
  • Roosters is in the fun business! We have a relaxed atmosphere and intimate showroom where you're never too far from the stage. Our dress code is casual but feel free to get dressed to the nines! Roosters is perfect for date night, birthday celebrations, bachelor/bachelorette parties or any other reason to get out of the coop. But no one really needs a reason to laugh, do they? They just need a laugh!

  • We have hilarious pro shows Thursdays through Sundays with headliners seen on Leno, Letterman, Conan, Kimmel, Ferguson, Comedy Central, Last Comic Standing and more! Your Groupon is valid for any of those shows, unless it is a Special Event (see below). You can always find our calendar at www.RoosterTFeathers.com

  • You must be 21 and over only, and we're strict about that. You'll need to have a valid government issued photo ID, like a drivers license, military ID, passport or CA ID if you are lucky enough to be young or look young!

  • We have a two-item minimum purchase per person policy. That can be either food or drinks and it doesn't have to be alcohol. We have a full bar, a wide range of non-alcoholic beverages and a limited snack food menu. If you're looking to make an evening of it with a nice dinner before the show, there are plenty of nearby restaurants, including PF Changs, Chipotle, Pasta Pomodora and, now open across the street, Five Guys Burgers and Pizza My Heart, among others.

  • Groupons are not valid for Special Events. Special Events are dates like New Year's Eve and Valentine's Day and specially-produced shows. Unlike other clubs, we don't make every weekend a Special Event just to keep you from using your Groupon! Right now none of the Thursday-Sunday shows on our calendar are considered Special Events.  Any Special Event would be listed on our Web site, in-house calendar, outgoing voice message, etc. so it should be pretty obvious. Please note that since Groupon vouchers are valid Thursday through Sunday only, they are not valid on Tuesday or Wednesday, and therefore cannot be used for our New Talent Competition or Open Mic Nights.

  • We have unlimited free parking. Parking is available on the street in front of the club, on the side streets, in the Goodyear Service Center lot (after 6pm), and in the Allario shopping center lot just across Murphy street from us.

  • To redeem your Groupon, just call us at 408.736.0921 to make a reservation and mention the Groupon. (We don't need the Groupon number when you make your reservation.) You can find information about our upcoming shows on the Calendar on our Web site, but you can't redeem your Groupon there. Print it out and bring it in with you to hand in at the door, or if you have it on your smart phone app we can take a look at it that way too.

  • It is General Admission seating with a Groupon, so that just means that the earlier you arrive for the show the more seating options will be available. Also, you need to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the show start time or you could lose your spot if we're sold out.

  • You can connect with us on Facebook and Youtube (some videos there featuring the comics that perform at Roosters) and follow us on Twitter (username @RoosterTF) to find out more about the club, our shows, special promotions, comedy news and other fun stuff!

  • We're fun and relaxed, but if your idea of fun is to come to a comedy show and talk loudly with your friends, heckle the comedians or just plain scowl, this is not the comedy club for you!
Have other questions? Call us at 408.736.0921. You might have to leave a message, but we WILL call you back. Or you can send an email to info@roostertfeathers.com. Thanks, and we're looking forward to seeing you soon!

Two Great Comedy Classes; One Great Price!

Comedians love what they do. They love what they do so much, many of them never get paid work yet keep going! But let's face it: That feeling of satisfaction is so much greater when it comes attached to a paycheck, right?

On Saturday February 25, Rooster T. Feathers is offering two great classes designed to help you get paid work and gain fans to keep your career going. Take one, or both! $35 for each class, or $50 if you take both.

got work?

Are you wondering…
…why you're not getting booked?
…why other people are getting booked and you’re not?
…if you're ready to get booked?
…what bookers want?
…what is the next step to get paid comedy work?
…if your promotional materials are up to snuff?
…who to call? And when?
If you want the answers to these questions, and more, you should get them from an expert in the field. Someone who books comedians for a full-time professional comedy club, who knows agents and managers. Someone who is honest and not afraid to tell it like it is....Wait a minute....We know someone like that! This one-and-a-half hour class is led by Heather Barbieri, veteran comedian and owner/booker of Rooster T. Feathers.
Saturday, February 25, 1:00pm, $35

Social Media Marketing for Comedians

Do you have a fan page? Are you blogging? What's your Klout score? When’s the best time to tweet? Have you claimed a unique URL for your Facebook page? Do you even know what that means? The Internet has changed the way comedians promote themselves and opened up huge opportunities to gain fans around the globe, but it can also be overwhelming. This class will show you how to make the most of the free tools now available to comics online, manage your online “image,” promote yourself to bookers, grow fans and share original content. This one-and-a-half-hour session is taught by comedian and Roosters' marketing manager, Beth Schumann.
Saturday, February 25, 3:00pm, $35

Both classes will be held in Roosters' showroom, 157 W. El Camino Real, Sunnyvale, CA 94087. To secure your spot, email roosterbookings@yahoo.com or call 408.736.0921.
